Pulsed-light skin treatments in Sainte-Maxime

Pulsed light, October to May

What a cream cannot do

Brown spots that arrived over the summers, redness on the sides of the nose, a complexion that has lost its evenness. We cover them up, we get used to them, and we end up noticing them only in photographs. Our hybrid device, the one used for permanent laser hair removal, carries a second technology dedicated to skin quality. It works in the dermis, where no surface treatment reaches. It complements our Thalgo facials , without replacing them.

Four indications

Four treatments, one technology

Pulsed light emits a broad spectrum that we filter according to the target. The same device therefore treats four different things.

Collagen remodelling

Photorejuvenation

It acts on collagen. The light warms the dermis, which responds by producing new collagen. The skin texture tightens and the complexion regains its glow.

It is the treatment you choose when nothing is specifically wrong, but the skin has lost its light. It is performed on the face, neck, décolleté and hands, the areas the sun has marked most.

Sessions are spaced several weeks apart, giving the collagen time to rebuild. This is deep work: the result settles in gradually rather than all at once.

Face, neck, décolleté, hands

Pigmentation spots

They concentrate melanin at the surface. These are the brown marks on the backs of the hands, the décolleté and the cheekbones, the ones the summers have left behind. The light is absorbed by that melanin, and the spot clears.

What happens next often surprises: the spot darkens noticeably in the hours that follow, then flakes away and disappears within a few days. It is striking, it is normal, and it is the sign that the session worked.

High sun protection is essential in the weeks that follow, otherwise the spot returns. This is another reason why we work from October to May.

Sides of the nose and cheeks

Capillary redness

These are those small dilated vessels visible on the sides of the nose and the cheeks. The light targets the oxyhaemoglobin inside the vessel, which closes. The redness then fades gradually.

We are talking here about an aesthetic concern, not an illness. Established rosacea, with its flare-ups and spots, is a matter for a dermatologist, and we will refer you there without hesitation rather than waste your time.

The area is treated quickly, in fifteen to thirty minutes depending on its size. The skin stays pink for an hour or two after the session, then returns to its normal appearance.

Combination skin with blemishes

The purifying light treatment

It is aimed at combination skin prone to blemishes. The light purifies the surface and regulates shine. The skin texture refines and the redness that accompanies such skin calms down.

Our work concerns the appearance of the skin, never the disease. Genuine acne is treated by a doctor, and we will tell you so plainly if that is your case.

This treatment combines well with a Thalgo routine between sessions, to maintain the result at home.

Single session or package

Our prices

Photorejuvenation is charged per session or as a package of three or five. Spots and redness are charged by time, in fifteen or thirty minutes. The full detail is on our prices page, together with all the salon's treatments.

Safety and season

Milo, our melanin reader, measures your skin tone from 0 to 100 before every session and adjusts the settings automatically. Because the light targets melanin, these treatments are performed on untanned skin, so from October to May.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask us about pulsed light

Here are the questions we are asked most often before a pulsed-light facial treatment in Sainte-Maxime.

Does it hurt?

No more than laser hair removal, which you may already know: it is the same device and the same cooled handpiece. The sensation is like an elastic band snapping briefly, more warm than painful. The face is still a sensitive area, so we always begin with a test pulse: you tell us what you feel and we adjust before going on.

Can I go out straight after the session?

Yes. The skin stays pink for an hour or two, sometimes a little warm. On spots, you will see the pigment darken and then flake away within a few days: that is the sign it is working. High sun protection is essential in the weeks that follow.

What is the difference with the hair-removal laser?

It is the same device, but not the same light. The diode laser emits a single wavelength, 808 nm, aimed at the hair bulb. Pulsed light spreads a broad spectrum that we filter according to the target: melanin for spots, oxyhaemoglobin for redness.

Does it work on every skin?

The device treats phototypes I to VI and the melanin reader adapts the settings to your skin tone. Tanned skin, however, has to wait, and that is why we work from October to May.

Can I follow with a facial treatment?

Not the same day, the skin has just been warmed. On the other hand, a soin du visage Thalgo a few days later extends the results very nicely.
